Frequently Asked Questions
Question: If I choose a donor from Exceptional Donors, Inc., can I still use my own doctor?
Answer: Yes. Once the egg donor recipient chooses a donor, she can be sent to any qualified physician that the egg donor recipient chooses within the US to proceed with the required medical treatment. Please note that some donors are not able to travel because of their home commitments.

Question: Are most of the donors in your registry college educated?
Answer: Yes, the majority of donors in the Exceptional Donors database are college educated or currently attending college. GPA and SAT or ACT scores are available in each donor’s profile. For an additional fee, egg donor recipients may request IQ testing.

Question: Are your donors psychologically screened?
Answer: Yes, all donors are required to have a thorough psychological evaluation by a licensed  psychologist that specializes in reproductive issues.

Question: What screening tests are your donors required to complete?
Answer: We recognize that most of our clients have undergone enormous stress caused by their fertility difficulties. We want to assure our clients that we are here to provide exceptional service. Egg donor recipients may relax in the confidence that we are extraordinarily careful about screening all of our egg donors. We require our donors to be thoroughly tested for communicable diseases, including hepatitis B & C, HIV, syphilis, cytomegalovirus, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia. In addition, the vast majority of fertility centers in the United States require all anonymous egg donors to have a complete physical examination and random drug screen. Depending upon the treating facility and the ethnic background of the donor, additional tests may be required. We follow the guidelines for egg donation established by the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Food and Drug Administration.

Question:What are the ages of your donors?
Answer: Our donors are between the ages of 19 and 31 years.
